The Spinal Trilogy No. 3 - The Cervical Spine
Extremely fine and mobile, the cervical spine, by sharing the deployment of it's curve, determines the functional freedom of the organs and muscles of the face (mimicry of the face articulation, sensory reception), as well as those of the throat (phonation, swallowing ...) Its meeting place with the back at C7/T1 is a true pivot for the fluid and flexible movement of the head. It's articulation with the base of the head at C1/C2, plays a crucial role for the mobility of the eyes, the flexibility of the soft palate and the fluidity of opening the mouth.
